Prince William offered to mend a rift, but Prince Harry declined.

It is said that Duke of Sussex Prince Harry turned down his brother Prince William's invitation to a private meeting to mend their estrangement.

In his book Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown, royal expert Valentine Low asserts that Prince William contacted his estranged brother Prince Harry after the latter revealed in an interview that the two had a falling out months before Megxit.

Although Harry and Meghan's remarks to Tom Bradby in 2019 caused Prince William to become "furious," the Prince of Wales requested a private meeting with the Duke to mend the split, but the Duke declined.

Valentine reports for the Daily Mail: "William WhatsApped his brother the day after the show aired to check whether he might visit him.

"Harry and Meghan were thrown off guard by this. What ought they do?

"At first, Harry supported it. He then asked his brother again who he was going to tell. William said that to free up his schedule, he would need to inform his secretary. Harry then commanded him to go.

"He would rather not see his brother than run the chance of it getting into the news," says William. "He was so worried that William's staff would leak the visit to the Press."
