Ed Sheeran recently spoke about the influence of Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee on his music.

The Perfect singer appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert where he revisited Eric Clapton's inspired performance during the 2002 royal ceremony.

"It was 2002, I was 11 years old, and I didn't play guitar at the time," he told Stephen.

I was watching something on television when Eric Clapton entered and sang the first opening section of Layla, and I was confused. I instantly knew I wanted to be that as he finished the song, Ed continued.

The Shape of You hitmaker added: "I want to pick up a guitar and I want to sing on stage. Then, ten years later, that's what I'm playing - and I still play ten years after that. It's It's rude."
